The Columbia Regional Airport Advisory Board
About Your Airport
Since the days of the Wright Brothers, aviation has struck a chord with people. Whether it is a small child watching airplanes with a sense of awe or the seasoned traveler who is thankful that airplanes can whisk him or her home in time to see his family before dinner, aviation has changed the way we all live.
Columbia Regional Airport takes its mission seriously as a facility that provides the community with scheduled air carrier service, top quality general aviation facilities, and a plan to serve our market, with an estimated population of 428,000, for years to come. In addition, more than 800 people derive their living from Columbia Regional and more than a dozen employers call Columbia Regional home, generating an annual payroll of more than $30 million. (Employment and payroll figures are from the 2005 Missouri State Airport System Economic Impact Summary.)
Our plans for the future include:
An
update to the Airport Master Plan followed by runway rehabilitation and
extension projects if approved by the Federal Aviation Administration.
Greater emphasis on providing additional commercial air service to mid-Missouri travelers.
Increased marketing efforts to further educate mid-Missourians about the tremendous asset they have in Columbia Regional and to attract more business and industry to one of the finest airports in the Midwest.
Come visit Columbia Regional Airport and, better yet, Fly Columbia!
