MASTER PLAN OVERVIEW

Columbia Regional Airport is an integral part of the transportation network and economic base for the City of Columbia and the entire mid-Missouri region.  As such, it is essential to continually monitor the growth and to plan for the future of the Airport.  Part of the process to plan for the future of Columbia Regional is to update the Airport Master Plan, which will develop a plan to support the aviation growth of the Airport over the next 20 years.

The major tasks to be accomplished in the Master Plan Update are:
1.  Study Design
2.  Public Involvement Program
3.  Issues and Existing Conditions
4.  Environmental Considerations
5.  Aviation Demand Forecasts
6.  Facility Requirements
7.  Identification and Evaluation of Alternatives
8.  Airport Layout Plans
9.  Facilities Implementation Plan
10. Financial Feasibility Analysis

Two committees were formed to support the planning process:  the Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) and Public Advisory Committee (PAC).  Public Information Workshops were held several times throughout the project to present the process and findings to the general public.
